Direct Sales Organization

Potential Supplemental and Residual Income

“I’m not a salesman.”

That’s what most people will say. Maybe you agree.

I beg to differ.

Did you ever make a presentation at work? That’s a sale. Plain and simple. You’re selling your idea to your peers, superiors, clients, subordinates, or any or all of the previous.

What about a job interview? That’s the ultimate sale. You’re fighting to sell the new employer on YOU, hoping that THEY will buy what you have to say. A sale.

Getting my kids to do something can be a sale.

“Can I just stay up and watch the end of this show?”

“No, you cannot. Fortunately, it’s recorded through the magic of TiVo. Watch it tomorrow morning.”

Have you been there too?

Sales are all around us. They don’t necessarily have to be in the form of exchanging money for a product. They are in their most simple form, a decision in a preferred direction.

Sales are ubiquitous. Whether you like it or not, you cannot avoid them no matter where you go. So if sales are all around us, would it not make sense that you might as well work at being good at them?

I’ve discovered that my quest for knowledge in the area of sales has improved my career position, without question. I’m not even in sales as a W-2 Career.

Not to mention an increased ability and awareness to obtain deals for myself through increased negotiation skills. If you can talk the talk, you can get some good deals.

So where am I going with this? How about obtaining and honing those skills through working in a Direct Sales Organization?

What is meant by “Direct Sales Organization?” A Direct Sales Organization is one in which people sell company products directly to other people by being an independent distributor of that company.

“Is that one of those pyramid things?”

Depends. You have to be careful about that. A general rule-of-thumb, or “litmus” test of a legitimate Network Marketing company versus a scam, or pyramid scheme, is in the business model, and more importantly, HOW THAT BUSINESS MODEL IS PRESENTED.

In other words, if the company or sponsor you’re approached by, or considering working with focuses more on recruiting others into the organization, rather than finding legitimate customers to sell the product to, outside of the organization, then a red flag should go up. That is the mark of a pyramid scheme. The company sells more to its distributors than to outside customers (FTC, 2009). In a pyramid scheme, you’ll probably lose more money than you’ll make. And those kinds of situations are the ones that put bad tastes in people’s mouths about things like sales in general, and network marketing, specifically.

Now there are many companies out there that focus more on selling the product to customers outside of the organization, rather than to their own distributors. In fact, the company I represent allows one to sell the company product for a commission without ever having to make a purchase themselves as a distributor. You don't need to SPEND money to MAKE money. This is what you want to look for in legitimacy.

Furthermore, as more of a litmus test, or baloney detector, are promises of a jet-set lifestyle. Get rich quick simply doesn’t happen. So don’t expect it, nor should you BUY it from anyone SELLING it to you. It’s not realistic.

Making some extra money to help pay off some debt, offset your 401K contributions, going out to eat, or buying your Spouse or Significant Other an occasional gift to say “I love you,” not out of the question.

The following will lead to a FREE e-book on Network Marketing. If you’re interested in the notion, I highly suggest you check this out before responding to ANY opportunity:New ebook reveals why the majority of mlmers fail in their business... Click Here!

The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing
That ebook is your's to keep. You can even pass it along to a friend.

You should find it most beneficial if you're thinking about starting a network marketing a.k.a. MLM business, or already deep into one yourself.

Unlike most of us in our W-2 Career, a Direct Sales opportunity is scalable. By that I mean it can grow as large or stay as small as you can direct it to.

A W-2 Career will have a theoretical maximum income cap, whether it is an hourly or salaried position. You will not make any more than there are hours in the year, and even less because you have to eat, sleep, and have time off.

What would an hourly paid theoretical maximum be? 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year for example? 7x12x52x[Your Wage per Hour]=Your Annual Theoretical Maximum Income.

But nobody really works 7x12x52. Maybe soldiers do, these days, and even they get a break.

Your theoretical maximum income annually is easy to determine if your salaried. You get no more, you get no less than the number that is your salary.

I have listed Direct Sales as both supplemental and residual income. Supplemental in that it takes a back seat to the W-2 career for the majority of people. And that’s quite alright. Remember, there are really not jets and fast cars in it for everyone. Residual in that it has the potential to keep coming in after some initial work. A repeat ordering customer is residual income. Bonuses from sales that your sales distributors make to their customers is residual income.

The ability to leverage your efforts through the efforts of others you assist, and therefore leverage your income potential is in part what makes network marketing an attractive choice for supplemental income.

The other part that is attractive is working with people in a format where you can have a potential direct impact on their success and growth, both in business education, and income generation. Not to mention you're working with people YOU CHOOSE TO WORK WITH! Do you have that choice in a W-2 Career? Not always...More often NOT!

So with that being said, I’m in the business of recruiting, training, and mentoring those that want to be part of a household sales force: ones that want to give it a shot to learn something that they may not have ever wanted to learn. Enable people to nurture themselves; to learn and grow at a pace that is their own, not to be ram-rodded, pushed, and hustled.

But to do that, YOU need to be willing to learn and grow yourself. This just doesn’t happen with the snap of your fingers. You need to put some time and effort into your own growth and development in this arena.

One such growth aspect is education in the area of Sales and Marketing. No, I’m not saying you need to run out and get your degree in it or anything. Trust me, I spent the last two years of my life obtaining yet another degree part time, and that’s not what I’m suggesting here. What I do have is one of the best crash-courses in the area of Sale and Marketing that I’ve come across. You can find it in the free info I provide on how I conduct my business.

Please provide your information in the form below. You have my utmost promise that information provided in the form below will ONLY be used for my purpose in contacting you SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO WORK WITH ME. I WILL NOT SELL this information to anyone. I will not HASSLE you if you tell me NO. This is a YES only endeavor.

Is that different from what your pre-conceived notions of network marketing are? Refreshing, isn't it?
