Have you ever seen banners on websites? Google Ads in the middle of text, or off to the side?

These are means of generating revenue for the owner of that site by basically "selling" their space for advertisement.

What's fun about this, is that because ANYONE can own and build a website, ANYONE can have a piece of this pie in advertising sky out in cyberspace.

I like to refer to it as sort of a "digital tattoo."

A website is kind of like a billboard, and people surfing it are like cars driving by.

The difference is that the website is much more precise in tracking that advertisement, and pays based on "performance" of the material.
